Session 2
Four-day summer camp for advanced, aspiring pianists ages 11 to 15
What To Expect
Session 2 is an intense four-day experience for mature young pianists!
- Private lessons with our faculty members, Amy Grinsteiner and Dainius Vaičekonis, and lesson observations with your peers.
- Assigned practice rooms with 2 hours of dedicated practice time each day.
- Daily Master Classes — all students will perform in one class for Professors McCabe and Sheppard.
- Seminar group activities given by UW Faculty or other experts.
- Final Showcase Recital in Brechemin Auditorium at the University of Washington.
- Participate in group sessions with the Guest Artist and Session 1 students.
Housing During Your Stay
For students traveling from out of the area, housing options are available in the University of Washington dorms across the street from the music building. There are also many hotels in the University District and near University Village. UW Housing provides multiple dining options on campus and many off-campus eateries are close by.
Session 2 is a DAY camp only. SPI provides no stewardship of students after the activities of the day are completed. If students wish to stay on campus, a parent or guardian must stay with them in the dorm.

It was really cool to be with advanced piano players who really care about music. I especially enjoyed playing in the master class, receiving multiple lessons from different faculty members, as well as watching my friends and peers grow musically. It was time well spent. I hope to be back!
