Session 2
July 15, 2016 - July 18, 2016
An intense four day experience for mature young pianists! Each day begins at 9:30am and ends no later than 6:00pm. Student engagement is high throughout the camp with 2 hours of practice time each day in assigned practice rooms, lessons and lesson observation, master class performance, participation in faculty and guest speaker workshops, and final showcase recital performance. One of the highlights of this camp is the overlap day with Session 1. The first day of Session 2 overlaps with the last day of Session 1, allowing the students to attend the final showcase recital of Session 1. To be in the audience with peers while watching pianists not too many years older excelling at their performance is motivating and encouraging, and provides an exciting way to spend part of the first day of camp!
For students traveling from out of the area, reasonable housing options are available in the University of Washington dorms across the street from the music building. There are also many hotels in the University District and near the University Village. UW Housing provides multiple dining options on campus and numerous off-campus places are close by.
